Drugs and illegal occupation of public property: Milan Police Commissioner Giuseppe Petronzi closes the “Chalet del Presidente” kiosk, located in Viale Gadio, in the Parco Sempione district of Milan. The suspension of activity will last 10 days. The decision comes within the framework of the prevention, territorial control and surveillance of public places in Milan carried out by the State Police to combat criminal phenomena, in accordance with article 100 of TULPS, Consolidated Law on Public Safety Laws.

On Wednesday afternoon, agents from the Central Police Station notified the kiosk owner of the suspension. Indeed, after several checks between August and November, it turned out that the place was frequented by drug traffickers with criminal and police backgrounds, particularly in immigration matters. Last September, police officers, with the help of local police, carried out a check, identifying five customers, four of whom had criminal and police records related to drugs, as well as regular customers.

During the activity, several administrative violations were reported to the kiosk owner, also related to the illegal occupation of public land with chairs and tables. In October, police officers from the Central Police Station, the Crime Prevention Department and the General Prevention Bureau found, behind the kiosk, 11 grams of hashish, 7 grams of marijuana and a package with traces of cocaine. In November, police identified two customers, one of whom, with a criminal record for drug offenses, was found in possession of 7.4 grams of hashish.
