A space open to any man who is a father or waiting to become one to explore the concept of fatherhood and the changes that result from it, offering participants a dedicated place to share the joys, doubts and difficulties involved in being father, with other men going through similar phases. Thus was born Terzo Tempo, the project promoted by La Grande Casa scs and Mission Bambini as part of “Scintilla”, a project launched by the Foundation and dedicated to more than 200 children aged 0 to 6 and their families. Terzo Tempo begins on Monday April 8, 2024 in Sesto San Giovanni, in the suburbs of Milan, and addresses current issues: the different ways of experiencing fatherhood and the stereotypes linked to the father figure, parental leave and the conciliation between professional life and private life. , but also the change in the balance within the couple. “When we talk about parenting, we often focus only on the maternal figure, but with the birth of a child, men also have to face a series of important changes. Terzo Tempo therefore responds to the need to dedicate a specific space and time to them, a moment of discussion and sharing on what it means to be a father, what dreams, expectations, responsibilities, fears and insecurities are. ” says Flavia Bernardi, teacher at the social cooperative La Grande Casa scs, contact person for the project. Terzo Tempo was born from the now consolidated experience of Il Salotto delle mum, a series of meetings dedicated to future mothers or new mothers, during which, with the support of experts, women question what it means to experience motherhood, comparing and sharing the emotions and challenges linked to it. The project includes a cycle of 3 evenings -meetings, each dedicated to a specific phase of fatherhood: the father of the past, present and future. Flavia Bernardi, pedagogue and perinatal coordinator, and Stefano Valaguzza, educator and coordinator of the “Sc*arti-Le Arti del riuso” project », accompany participants in the exploration of their emotions based on three questions “What do you want to take with you from what your father was and what would you prefer to leave behind? Which dad are you? Why would you want your child to remember you? The first cycle begins on Monday April 8 at 8 p.m. at the cooperative headquarters in Cascina Baraggia (via Petrarca 146, Sesto San Giovanni) and continues on Monday April 15 and Monday April 22. Terzo Tempo is part of the planning of Mission Bambini, which has always paid particular attention to the importance of investing in services to support and improve parenting skills”, highlights Serena Sartirana, project coordinator of the childhood space of Mission Bambini. https://missionbambini.org/stella/la-stella-di-milano/
