The fire in the locomotive of a freight train caused chaos on Wednesday evening on the Milan-Venice line: fortunately no one was injured, but the cleaning and safety operations – the firefighters of Brescia and Paitone were on site – were forced to close the railway line, a circumstance which caused delays of up to 200 minutes or more. Trains forced to stop and delays of 200 minutes

“Traffic is suspended between Rezzato and Lonato due to an intervention by firefighters near the line: trains could experience delays,” writes RFI in a note broadcast early in the evening. The peak of 200 minutes of delay reached by train AV 9757 towards Venice was followed by delays of 180 minutes for regional 2646 towards Milan, 160 minutes for train AV 9759 towards Trieste, 140 minutes for the regional 2648 heading again. to Milan, 100 minutes for train AV 9763 towards Venice and so on. It was only after midnight that traffic slowly resumed. Chaos in Verona Porta Nuova station: dozens of travelers forced to stop. And there are those who had to stop to sleep in town.
