The EuroMillions draw is a transnational lottery played in several European countries. It was created in 2004 by a consortium of lottery operators and its first draw took place on February 13 of the same year.

The aim of the EuroMillions draw is to offer larger and more attractive prizes than those offered in the national lotteries of each participating country. To play, participants must choose five numbers from 1 to 50 and two additional numbers, called “stars,” from 1 to 12. Prizes are distributed based on the number of correct answers and the number of stars.

The initial consortium that launched EuroMillions was made up of lottery operators from Spain, France and the United Kingdom. Over time, other countries such as Portugal, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg and Switzerland, among others, joined us. Currently, EuroMillions is played in 13 European countries in total.

EuroMillions has handed out some of the biggest prizes in the history of European lotteries, including several record jackpots worth hundreds of millions of euros. In addition, part of the profits obtained from ticket sales are allocated to social and cultural assistance programs in the participating countries, which makes EuroMillions also a means of contributing to the well-being of European society .
